The AJ

Construction on the AJ, a housing development at The Railyards, began in the summer of 2020.

The AJ is a mixed-use, multi-family residential housing project at The Railyards. The building will offer 345 residential units, 69 of which will be affordable housing. Future residents will be able to choose from studio, one, and two-bedroom layouts and enjoy amenities like a dog wash and rooftop lounge.

The Telegrapher

This proposed residential development would include 432 units, offering a mixture of townhomes, one-bedroom flats, and apartments. Residents would enjoy interior courtyards, bocce ball courts, hammocks, and other amenities.

Construction is expected to begin in early 2023.

The Foundry

The Foundry commercial project consists of two six-story office buildings and includes 7500 square feet of ground-floor retail space. A shared courtyard area between the two buildings offers the potential for outdoor seating, living walls, and other exciting amenities.

Construction on The Foundry is expected to begin in 2023 and finish in the Fall of 2025.

Central Shops

Exciting things are coming to The Central Shops at The Railyards, including plans to renovate the Paint Shop into an entertainment venue that could host up to 4,000 people. The space would include assembly space, restaurants and bars, and offices.

The project has been approved by the City of Sacramento and construction is expected to begin in 2023.

Wong Center Senior Apartments

The Wong Center Senior Apartments is a residential development in The Railyards aimed at providing affordable housing for Seniors. 150 units will be available, with features like garden beds, bike storage, and turf for dogs.

Construction is expected to begin this year, and all financing has been approved.

California State Railroad Museum Expansion

An expansion of the California State Railroad Museum is planned for The Railyards. This new center for learning and discovery would make its home in the former Boiler Shop and Erecting Shop – the largest buildings of the former South Pacific structures on site. This project will offer a window into the rich history of the Railyards in the heart of this project.

Preliminary engineering work has been completed and the design stage is underway.
