September brings a bounty of Farm-to-Fork celebrations to the Sacramento region, including the Farm-to-Fork Festival and Legends of Wine event.

Sacramento is America’s Farm-to-Fork Capital, home to more than 40 regional farmers’ markets and more than 1.5 million acres of active farmland. In Sacramento, Farm-to-Fork is more than a trend or a catchphrase; it’s a way of life. Every year, the entire community comes out in September for an epic Farm-to-Fork celebration to get a taste.

From wine tasting to hanging with renowned chefs to an exclusive dining experience, there’s no better way to celebrate the region’s bounty than one of these upcoming Farm-to-Fork events.

The California Grand Tasting: September 11, 2026

Sacramento’s Farm-to-Fork festival kicks off with The California Grand Tasting on September 11th, 2026. The California Grand Tasting combines two of the festival’s most anticipated events, Legends of Wine and The Grand Tasting. During the early evening hours, this event will bring together the best of Sacramento’s wines and culinary scenes at SAFE Credit Union Convention Center.

International wine experts and taste-makers Darrell Corti and David Berkley know a thing or two about wine. Corti is considered one of the most influential people in California’s wine industry and has been inducted into the Vintners Hall of Fame. Berkley served as White House Wine Consultant for the Reagan, Clinton, and Bush administrations.

These local “legends of wine” select the wineries that best represent Sacramento’s wine scene for the Legends of Wine event. Each winery pours two varietals. Guests can pair their tastings with perfect food pairings from local restaurants.

The Grand Tasting, now blended into the Legends of Wine as The California Grand Tasting, has been a highlight of Sacramento’s culinary scene. The California Grand Tasting will feature more than 30 acclaimed restaurants and live entertainment. The tastings include fare from some of Sacramento’s Michelin-recommended restaurants.

Enjoy selections from these amazing local favorites:

  • The 7th Street Standard
  • Camden Spit and Larder (Michelin-recommended)
  • Chicha Peruvian Kitchen & Café
  • Cuveé Club
  • Hawks Public House
  • Kin Thai Street Eatery (Michelin-recommended)
  • Nixtaco (winner of the Michelin Bib Gourmand)
  • And more!

Sounds like fun? Elevate your Farm-to-Fork experience at The California Grand Tasting, a 21+ event taking place at the SAFE Credit Union Convention Center in Ballroom A.

Farm-to-Fork Festival at Terra Madre Americas: Returning in 2027

The annual Farm-to-Fork Festival at Terra Madre Americas is now a biennial event, returning to Sacramento in 2027! Farm-to-fork fans gather at the SAFE Credit Union Convention Center in Downtown Sacramento to enjoy the region’s biggest fresh food party with local food, wine, and beer.

This Sacramento event fuses the Farm-to-Fork Festival with Terra Madre Americas, the American version of the world-renowned Slow Food’s Terra Madre Salone del Gusto held annually in Turin, Italy.

Visit Sacramento has hosted the Farm-to-Fork Festival for over a decade, and in that time it has grown into one of the most anticipated events of its kind in Northern California.

“Sacramento’s reputation as a food destination has continued to grow, with restaurants flourishing, the MICHELIN Guide and James Beard Foundation recognizing our community, and media from across the country writing about our restaurants. Slow Food selecting Sacramento as its American host is a true testament to where the city is in our culinary journey, and marrying the event with the Farm-to-Fork Festival will take the event to the next level,” said Visit Sacramento president & CEO, Mike Testa.

Attendees of this free event will enjoy a smorgasbord of culinary adventures, including opportunities to:

  • Taste the fresh, Farm-to-Fork flavors of Sacramento from local food trucks, grocers, growers, and vendors.
  • Enjoy an incredible selection of wines and craft beers from Northern
  • California vineyards and breweries.
  • Bring the entire family to enjoy cooking demonstrations, family activities, live music, and interactive exhibits.

Admission to the festival is often free, but you’ll want to bring your card for vendor, food, and alcohol purchases. Terra Madre Americas is a cashless event. This family-friendly event is for all ages.
